Loco wanted !

Can you lend us a loco?

We are looking for a loco to stand on the existing railway line at the site of the intended future station, both to advertise the station site and the railway, and to contribute to this year’s Brunel 200 celebrations. The following message is from our Chairman Alan Matthews:

‘The site of the proposed new station is currently an open space within a very large developing housing and business park. The group, the developers and the local tourism officer are keen to have on the site a static loco (preferably steam) to advertise the station site. In the first instance the loco would need to be stripped of all valuable items as the area is currently open although adjacent to the Waitrose store.

The cost of moving and mounting will probably be covered by local businesses.
